What features are required for you to be able to use scheduling software for your radio station? What did you pay for the software you use, or is it a monthly/yearly license? What are some pros and cons of the tools you use? What other tools do you currently use to achieve the tasks above? I however feel like taking this a step further, and I would like the community to drive where I spend my efforts. The application is fine in its current version for the local radio station I developed it for. I’ve since managed to develop a first version of this that allows the user to define multiple categories (genres of music) and spot groups (ads, daily news, …), create rotations and schedules, and automatically generate playlists based on these configured settings on a weekly basis. ![]() Licenses for this type of software are apparently rather high and since the radio station is owned by an acquaintance of mine, this felt like a fun project to take on. Recently, I’ve been asked to develop an application that can automatically create randomized playlists for a local radio station. I’m hoping this is a good place to ask this, if not, feel free to correct me.
